Cosplay Contest

Bring your favorite characters to life on stage! Impress the judges and audience with your amazing costumes and captivating performances. Judging is based on creativity, stage presence, and overall entertainment.

Note: Participation is limited to 25 contestants. Walk-ons may sign up on Saturday, Oct 19, 2025 if space is available; please email your application if the online form fails.

2025 Cosplay Contest Rules
  1. OneAnime is a family-friendly convention. Performances must maintain a PG rating and cannot contain nudity, cursing, or sexually explicit situations. Costumes must abide by OneAnime's coverage rules. (Body paint is not a substitute for clothing.)
  2. Weapons and props must adhere to OneAnime's security rules regarding peace bonding and visibility.
  3. Costume, set, and prop size must not exceed 7.5’ high x 6’ wide x 3’ deep (except for collapsible items). Contact the Cosplay Director if you have questions.
  4. Walk-ons have 45 seconds; skits have up to 3 minutes (with 1 minute allowed for set-up/take-down of props). There are no exceptions.
  5. Audio must be provided as an MP3 file attached to the Tech Needs form. Links (YouTube, Dropbox, etc.) are not acceptable.
  6. Maximum group entry size is 8 people.
  7. Requests for additional assistance (e.g., getting on/off stage, microphone use, stage ninjas) must be submitted in advance.
  8. All entrants must submit progress photos as “proof of life” by 11:59 pm on October 14, 2025, to [email protected]. Failure to do so will forfeit your spot.
  9. Entrants must check in at the Cosplay Desk during the designated hours or risk forfeiture of their entry. A mandatory check-in meeting is held on Saturday, Nov 1, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
  10. Optional rehearsal is available on Friday, Oct 31, 2025 during the Second Hand Sale (10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.). Enter through the Events Greenroom only.
  11. No running on stage, skating, or using props that cannot be easily removed (e.g., confetti, glitter, liquids, pyrotechnics). Unauthorized use will result in disqualification.
  12. You must be registered for OneAnime to enter the contest. Late on-site entries may be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Audio for on-site entries must be on a flash drive in MP3 format.
  13. For safety, please arrive at the judging location at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time. Participants 17 or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. There will be a separate cosplay competition for Children 12 and under.
  14. Staff or volunteers entering as “Craftsmanship Only” must schedule their judging on Friday, October 31st (unless a conflict has been arranged prior to October 4, 2025).
  15. A cosplayer may only be part of a single entry. You cannot enter as both a solo and a group member, or submit in multiple categories.

Idol Competition

Showcase your singing talent and become OneAnime's Idol! Perform your favorite anime or J-pop songs (instrumentals only). Winners take home exclusive OneAnime prizes!

  1. Pre-registration required. Submit instrumental MP3 only.
  2. Performance time limit: 3 minutes per contestant.
  3. Songs must be anime, J-pop, or Japanese-culture inspired.
  4. Judging: vocal quality, stage presence, audience interaction, song choice.
  5. Winners receive exclusive OneAnime merchandise and closing ceremony recognition.

Anime Trivia Showdown

Think you're an anime expert? Test your knowledge in our live trivia game show! Compete via Kahoot to qualify for the final stage showdown.

Trivia Showdown Rules
  1. Pre-registration recommended; on-site signups as space allows.
  2. Qualifiers: 15 Kahoot rounds.
  3. Finals: Top 6 compete live with 10 final questions.
  4. Grand Prize: trophy + prize package; runner-up prizes also awarded.
  5. Participants need a smartphone/tablet with internet.

Lucky Draw Giveaway

Everyone has a chance to win! Simply visit our merchandise booth to enter. Winners must claim prizes within two hours or the prize rolls over.

Lucky Draw Rules
  1. Fill out an entry form at the merchandise booth (one entry per attendee).
  2. Winners announced every two hours; check merch desk announcements.
  3. Unclaimed prizes after two hours are added to the next draw.

Food Challenge Arena

Put your appetite to the test in our exciting food challenges sponsored by Miyazaki! Can you take the heat in our Spicy Ramen Challenge or devour the most sushi rolls in record time?

Food Challenge Rules
  1. Spicy Ramen Challenge: finish an extra-spicy bowl fastest to win (safety guidelines enforced).
  2. Sushi Eating Contest: eat as many sushi rolls as possible within 5 minutes; top eater wins.
  3. On-site registration only; limited spots, first come, first served.

Group Photo Sessions

Capture memories and meet fellow fans! Join hourly group photo sessions by anime title in the main Atrium. Check onsite schedules to join your fandom!

Photo Session Details
  • Hourly sessions organized by anime fandom; schedule posted onsite and in-app.
  • Location: Main Atrium (look for signage).
  • Please respect other fans and follow staff guidance.
